Some winners of the 2015 Country Music Association Awards were revealed ahead of the ceremony held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night, November 4. The first trophies were handed to Keith Urban and Maddie & Tae during "Good Morning America" earlier in the day.

Urban was awarded with Musical Event of the Year for his and Eric Church's "Raise 'Em Up". "It's such a cinematic song as well, and I've always considered Eric to be a very cinematic artist," Urban said of the song. "I sent him the song, and he was in the studio immediately. I'm so glad he wanted to be a part of it because it took the song to a new place."

Church added, "My first thought was, 'I wish I'd written it.' And I wished that because I feel like we did. If we sat down and wrote a song, it would be that kind of song. It's artistic and has a lot of depth, but it's about something so universal."

Maddie & Tae, meanwhile, won the Music Video of the Year title for their "Girl in a Country Song". The duo, who edged out competitors like Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood in the category, expressed their excitement in a press release.

"We were just so glad to be nominated," member Tae Dye said. "When you see all those amazing artists' names and you see yours, you think, 'Wow.' You don't think about winning; you're just glad to be there. But to win? That's crazy."

Later in the day, Little Big Town was announced as the first winner during the ceremony, which is airing live on ABC. The group was honored with the Single of the Year Award for their "Girl Crush". Accepting the prize from Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, they thanked the songwriters behind the track and country radio during their speech.
