Jamie Lee Curtis will pay tribute to her mother and "Psycho" on "Scream Queens". The actress will reenact her mom Janet Leigh's iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's movie for a special episode of her upcoming TV series.

Curtis has teased the said scene in a picture posted on Twitter showing her screaming while holding her mom's picture from the 1960 film. "Recreated Mom's PSYCHO shower scene 4 a special ep of @ScreamQueens," she wrote in the caption along with a premiere date of the FOX series.

The 56-year-old actress admitted to Variety, "My entire life I have refused to step into the shower because it belongs to my mother. I have attempted to step out of the shadow of my parents for a long time."

She, however, thought it was finally the right time to pay a tribute to her mom in the episode written by Brad Falchuck. "It felt like they're both gone, and enough time has passed," she explained. "This role has appeared in my life. It's unexpected and delightful."

She only had one condition to do the scene, "If we're going to go for it, let's go for it. Let's be accurate as we can. And we did." Of why she shared the picture so early, Curtis said, "As soon as Ryan saw that picture, he said put it out. So I did."

On "Scream Queens", Curtis stars as Dean Cathy Munsch, the dean of the university which is rocked by several murders. Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd and Abigail Breslin play members of the Kappa sorority. Oliver Hudson, Skyler Samuels, Nasim Pedrad, Nick Jonas and Patrick Schwarzenegger also star on it.

The new anthology series will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, September 22 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on FOX.
