Justin Timberlake is lending his voice to a singing troll in the upcoming DreamWorks Animation feature. In "Trolls", the nine-time Grammy winner is tapped to voice Branch, "a hilariously hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colors."

Timberlake joins Anna Kendrick who was previously confirmed to voice a "relentlessly upbeat" princess named Poppy. Together they will venture "far beyond the only world they have ever known, [and] their quest will test their strength and reveal their true colors - with no shortage of musical mash-ups along the way!"

Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn, who worked together in "Shrek Forever After", serve behind the lens for the animated movie. It's scheduled to make its way out Stateside on November 4, 2016.

The film is based on the troll dolls created in the late 1950s by a Danish woodcutter, Thomas Dam, who didn't have enough money to buy a Christmas present for his daughter. The beloved dolls are known for their gravity defying and colorful hair.

Justin Timberlake previously lent his voice to animated flicks like "Yogi Bear" and "Shrek the Third". He was last seen on the big screen in 2013, starring in "Runner Runner" and "Inside Llewyn Davis". He welcomed his first child with wife Jessica Biel in April this year.
