'Wet Hot American Summer' Documentary Gets First Trailer

'Hurricane of Fun: The Making of Wet Hot American Summer' is a one-hour documentary which features behind-the-scenes footage of the comedy film which was being filmed in the spring of 2000.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for documentary "Hurricane of Fun: The Making of Wet Hot American Summer" has arrived. The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of 2001's "Wet Hot American Summer".

Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Molly Shannon, Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks are up to show people what exactly happened at a camp in Pennsylvania as "Wet Hot American Summer" was being shot in the spring of 2000. The trailer shows interviews with the cast members and plenty of scenes where they spent great times together. The one-hour documentary is directed by Amy Rice who shot 25 hours of footage at the time before she finally stitched it together into a film.

"Wet Hot American Summer" movie revolves around the last day at a fictional Jewish summer camp in 1981. The film spawned an eight-episode prequel entitled "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" which brings back the entire adult cast to play high school-age characters despite the fact that all of the actors has aged almost 15 years.

According to Variety, Amplify Releasing has acquired worldwide rights to "Hurricane of Fun: The Making of Wet Hot". "If your friends buried a time capsule for you 15 years ago, filled it with stuff that would make you really happy, and you just came upon it, 'Hurricane of Fun' would pretty much be that," said Dylan Marchetti, chief creative officer for Amplify Releasing. "If your home movies were this much fun, you'd never leave your house," he added.
