Jennifer Aniston was reported earlier this month that she played matchmaker and set up "love connection" between Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran. However, a source confirmed to Gossip Cop that the reports were all just a bunch of crap.

The rumors were first reported by National Enquirer. According to its erroneous story, the "Life of Crime" star tried to set up the two single singers by inviting them to her house for dinner. A source for the tabloid reportedly said that Aniston "listened to Selena pour her heart out about her troubled love life, and wanted to find her the perfect guy. The first one who came to mind was Ed!"

Responding to the reports, Gossip Cop caught up with a source close to the situation who said that all the rumors were "false." Furthermore, the site said there's no special connection between Gomez and Sheeran because they're just friends.

The same magazine also falsely reported in March that Gomez was the reason behind a big fight between Aniston and her fiance Justin Theroux. However, Gossip Cop again corrected the made-up story, which alleged Gomez and Theroux acted inappropriately.

Gomez and Sheeran dating rumors emerged in late June after they were having dinner together at the Sunset Towers Hotel before heading to Tori Kelly's album release party at The Nice Guy lounge in Los Angeles together. After the release party, the two were spotted getting on the same black SUV and shopping at a 7-Eleven convenience store.
