Breaking Benjamin is topping Billboard 200 with their fifth studio album "Dark Before Dawn". With around 141,000 equivalent album units that include 135,000 copies of pure album sales, the record marks the rock group's first to top the chart and gives them their best sales week ever.
Breaking Benjamin logged their previous best sales week with their 2009 set "Dear Agony", which landed at No. 4 with 134,000. Their previous highest-charting album, meanwhile, was 2006's "Phobia" which opened with 125,000.
Next on this week's Billboard 200, Tori Kelly's debut full-length "Unbreakable Smile" arrives at No. 2 with 75,000 units, 65,000 of which are traditional album sales. Kacey Musgraves becomes another newcomer on the list as her "Pageant Material" starts at No. 3 with 60,000. The country darling's previous set, 2013's "Same Trailer Different Park", peaked at No. 2 with 43,000.
At No. 4 is Taylor Swift's "1989" which falls from last week's No. 2 after selling additional 54,000 units. Behind the pop superstar is last week's first placer, James Taylor's "Before This World" that plunges to No. 5 with 50,000.
R&B singer Leon Bridges is at No. 6 as his debut album "Coming Home" starts with 42,000 units. Ed Sheeran's "X" falls from No. 4 to No. 7 with 35,000 while Sam Hunt's "Montevallo" slips two rungs to No. 8 with 30,000.
Closing out the top 10 are Maroon 5's "V" which remains at No. 9 with 27,000 and the "Teen Beach Movie 2" soundtrack that debuts at No. 10 with 24,000. The latter set follows the "Teen Beach Movie" soundtrack which opened at No. 8 back in 2013 but later peaked at No. 3.
