Whoopi Goldberg Blasts Jim Bob Duggar for Bringing Up God to Defend His Son

After listening to Jim Bob downplaying his son's case, the 59-year-old host gets fed up and says, 'Don't talk about God forgiving people, when you don't have forgiveness in your own heart.'

AceShowbiz - Whoopi Goldberg got fed up with Jim Bob Duggar's statement about God's forgiveness to his son Josh Duggar. In a recent episode of "The View" airing on Thursday, June 4, the veteran comedian slammed Jim Bob's hypocrisy as he didn't have forgiveness to people different from him.

Previously in a Fox News interview airing on Wednesday, Jim Bob said, "If people can see that God could forgive him for these terrible things, then I hope other people realize that God can forgive them." After footage of the interview was played on "The View", Whoopi looked impatient to voice her comment. "You brought God up, so it makes it OK to say this," said Whoopi. "You're not forgiving of people who feel differently than you. You guys made robocalls about transgender people and said some really horrific stuff, so if you want to find out about forgiveness, I don't think that this is the way to do it."

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" actress also criticized the "19 Kids and Counting" star for downplaying the molestation done by his son. "I know this is your son and I know that you're trying this so many years ago. But don't downplay this especially after what you guys have done in the name of Christianity and God to other people," she said.

"Don't do it. You can't do that and talk about God forgiving people, when you don't have forgiveness in your own heart. You don't have enough to see that God made all of us and God doesn't make mistakes," the 59-year-old host added.

The Duggars family has been known for supporting anti-LGBT causes. Last year, Michelle Duggar made a robocall which was automatically sent to people in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in which she protested a local anti discrimination law. She mentioned the danger of transgender people and called them "males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female."

Co-host Nicolle Wallace chimed in, "When you say 'God will forgive my son who molested my daughters,' if that's your world view, if that's how you got through it, OK. But you can't say God can't forgive a transgender person."

On the previous day, the Duggars opened up about molestation scandal with Megyn Kelly of Fox News. It was the family's first TV interview since the case emerged two weeks ago. During the interview, Jill Duggar and sister Jessa Duggar admitted that they were among the victims.
