The 'Friday' actor passed away on Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 75 due to complications after suffering from stroke.

AceShowbiz - Reynaldo Rey passed away at the age of 75. The actor of 1995's movie "Friday" died on Thursday, May 28 at a Los Angeles hospital in California due to complications after suffering from stroke, the actor's manager Vanzel Burke told the Associated Press.

According to his manager, Reynaldo had a stroke last year. He started having the complications in January this year and had been hospitalized since then. He died before he completed his treatment at the hospital.

Reynaldo, who started out as an acting teacher, began his career in entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian before playing in movies. He got his first role as Redd Foxx in "Sanford" when he was 41. He later earned a recurring role as Ray on the popular NBC sitcom "227". He appeared in 20 episodes during its four-year run and even wrote a couple of episodes for the TV series.

He also appeared in several comedy movies during the '90s that included "White Men Can't Jump" with Wesley Snipes and "House Party 3" starring Woody Harrelson. People perhaps knew more about him after he played Red's father in "Friday".

His other movies included "A Rage in Harlem", "Harlem Nights" and "The Breaks". Meanwhile, his other TV shows were "The Tonight Show", "The Parent Hood" and "Robert Townsend's Parents in Crime".
