Ryan Adams has finally covered Bryan Adams' "Summer of '69", more than 12 years after he turned down a fan's request to do so. He performed the Canadian rocker's 1985 hit during his show on Tuesday, April 28 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

The 40-year-old American singer, who also shares the same birth date with Bryan (November 5), delivered a simple rendition of the song with only a mic and an acoustic guitar. He reportedly also covered Patrick Swayze's "She's Like the Wind" during his two-night stint at Ryman Auditorium.

In October 2002, at the same venue, Ryan infamously cursed out a fan who joked that he should've sung "Summer of '69" because of their similar names. Ryan responded with expletives.

He found the heckler and paid him $30 as a refund for the show, ordered him to leave and said that he wouldn't play again until the fan left the place. Ryman general manager Pam Matthews, however, "apologized profusely" for Ryan's act and allowed the fan to stay and enjoy the concert.
