Official: Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve to Write 'Captain Marvel'
Movie

Marvel officially announces that the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' scribe and the 'Inside Out' writer will pen Carol Danvers' first solo movie.

AceShowbiz - Marvel confirms that "Captain Marvel" will be penned by female writers. Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve are officially announced to help bring Carol Danvers to the big screen in her first solo cinematic adventure due in theaters on November 2, 2018.

Perlman is the co-writer of James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" which introduced a group of galactic ragtag. Meanwhile, LeFauve most recently penned Pixar's next original film "Inside Out (2015)" which will arrive in U.S. theaters on June 19.

No director and actress has been announced for "Captain Marvel" which will become Marvel's first superhero movie led by a female character, but Adam McKay could be a contender to helm the project since Kevin Feige says McKay is being eyed for all future Marvel flicks.

"Adam McKay is in the running for everything. Adam McKay is a great, great writer and director," the producer told Collider. "He did an amazing pass on the Ant-Man draft with Paul Rudd for us, and I didn't know him before then. And we got to know him through that and liked him very much, and have met with him a number of times trying to find something else, so we've talked about a lot of characters with him."

McKay was previously rumored to replace Edgar Wright as a director but he turned it down, and the job eventually went to Peyton Reed. When previously asked if he's interested in directing a Marvel movie at all, he did say, "Maybe I would take on one of the characters so we haven't locked in anything, but discussions are definitely going on."
