One Direction is officially a foursome. Following Zayn Malik's departure last month to become "a normal 22-year-old," the band's management's site on Monday, April 13 shared a new official photo featuring only the remaining four members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
Also via the site, it's confirmed that the group had started working on a new album to follow up last year's "FOUR". "In April 2015 the band started working on their 5th studio album set to be released later in the year," read their updated bio.
Zayn's exit came as a huge surprise not only for millions of One Direction fans, but also for fellow musicians. Fifth Harmony is the latest to speak out about the 22-year-old singer's heartbreaking decision.
"[Our] only opinion is that we respect him and his decision to do so," Lauren Jauregui told HuffPost Live. Camila Cabello added, "Yeah, I mean I think that One Direction was such a, I mean is, such an important part of some people's lives, and I think it was just a dream for a lot of people."
She continued, "I was a huge One Direction fan, I think we all are, so I think it made people sad, but at the same time happiness and health [are] the most important thing. At the end of the day, he's a person, and he's a human being, and he needs to take care of himself."
