The 'Dilemma' rapper was arrested for felony drug charges while traveling in Putnam Country, but his lawyer insists that Nelly is innocent.

AceShowbiz - Nelly was arrested in Putnam Country, Tennesse on multiple drug charges including possession of methamphetamines, misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested early Saturday, April 11 by Tennessee state troopers.

The incident took place when Nelly and five other people in a Prevost motor coach bus were traveling in Putnam Country and police authorities pulled over the rapper's bus at 9:20 A.M. They were supposed to display U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker, a requirement for vehicles as large as a tour bus, but they did not comply.

Troopers said that they smelled marijuana from the vehicle and started to search the bus before finding a plastic bag with five colored, crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine. They also found 100 small Ziploc bags of marijuana, and handguns, including a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol.

After his arrest, Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum insists that Nelly is innocent and is not associated with the contraband that was found on the vehicle. "Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee," Rosenblum says in a statement. "In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered," Rosenblum adds.
