Sheeran takes home two awards including British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year for his latest effort 'X'.

AceShowbiz - The winners of the 2015 BRIT Awards were announced during a ceremony taking place at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday night, February 25. Ed Sheeran was among the biggest winners as he took home multiple awards including British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year for the acclaimed "X".
While he lost in those two categories won by Sheeran, Sam Smith nabbed the British Breakthrough Act title after edging out the likes of Royal Blood, George Ezra, FKA twigs and CHVRCHES. The "Stay With Me" hitmaker additionally won Global Success award.
Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams and Foo Fighters were U.S. acts who shone at the awards show. The former country singer and the "Happy" hitmaker bagged the International Female Solo Artist and International Male Solo Artist Award, respectively. Dave Grohl and his bandmates, meanwhile, claimed the top prize in the International Group category.
Other names on the winners list included One Direction (Best Video for "You and I"), Mark Ronson (British Single for "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars) and Paloma Faith (British Female Solo Artist).
