'Lost Stars' From 'Begin Again' Gets Lyric Video Ahead of 2015 Academy Awards

The lyric video comes just a few days before Adam Levine performs the Best Original Song nominee at this weekend's ceremony.

AceShowbiz - With a few days left until the 2015 Academy Awards, the writers behind Best Original Song nominee "Lost Stars" promote the track by releasing a new lyric video. Premiered via Deadline on Monday, February 16, the clip features several animated characters flashing against a white backdrop along with the lyrics that are mostly written in black letters.

"Lost Stars" appears on the soundtrack of last year's "Begin Again". The mid-tempo ballad was co-penned by %cDanielle Brisebois% and %cGregg Alexander% who also performed it with their bandmates from %cThe New Radicals%.

In the movie, meanwhile, the song was written by %cKeira Knightley%'s character and was sung by her boyfriend, played by %cAdam Levine%. The %cMaroon 5% frontman will deliver the live rendition of the track at this weekend's Oscars.

In the Best Original Song category, "Lost Stars" is pitted against "Glory" (%cCommon% and %cJohn Legend% from "Selma"), "Grateful" (%cRita Ora% from "Beyond the Lights"), "Everything Is Awesome" (%cTegan and Sara% and %cThe Lonely Island% from "The Lego Movie") and "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" (%cGlen Campbell% from "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me").
