Still working on his debut solo album, Nathan Sykes has aimed high by promising collaboration with British singer-songwriter Sam Smith. In an exclusive interview with E! News, he just couldn't stop talking about how much he adores him.

"Sam Smith at the Grammys was just insane," Nathan shared. "I've listening (sic) to a lot of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and I'm living in hope for this Adele album. So, yes, I am quite biased toward the Brits."

The former member of boyband The Wanted went on revealing a possible duet with Sam. "We've spoken about going into the studio before and I think it's quite likely going to happen over the next year," he revealed. "It'll be insane. I think it'll be such a great opportunity to create something really cool."

When asked about his upcoming debut album, Nathan told E! News that it would be "soulful pop." About it he explained, "I think people just kind of saw me as the baby-faced one from The Wanted and the young one who sang like a couple of verses in 'Glad You Came'. This is an opportunity to show that I can write and produce really good music."

What's interesting is that one of the songs featured in the set would be about his break-up from then girlfriend Ariana Grande. "It's a very nice breakup song. I think if people are expecting me to throw shade...that's not going to happen. I'm not that type of person. I'd like be known to be a very kindhearted person," so he stated.
