Bill Cosby breaks silence amidst the mounting allegations of sexual assault against him. Without mentioning the specific issue, he says that the media should stay impartial when covering news. He also says his wife always stands by his side.
"Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind," the comedian tells New York Post. He is described as upbeat during the phone interview.
When asked how his wife is doing, Cosby replies, "Love and the strength of womanhood. Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love."
When the topic of the sexual assault scandal comes up, he quickly shuts it down by telling the interview that he's not allowed by his camp to make any comment. "They don't want me talking to the media," he says.
