The drummer, represented by his lawyer, has entered a not guilty plea to charges of threatening to kill and possession of drugs.

AceShowbiz - AC/DC's member Phil Rudd has pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening to kill and possession of the drugs methamphetamine and cannabis. The 60-year-old was excused from appearing in Tauranga District Court, New Zealand on Tuesday, November 2 local time, and his plea was entered by his lawyer.

Rudd was arrested on November 6 when police raided his waterfront mansion. The drummer is currently free on bail. He was initially also charged with "attempting to procure murder" but it was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

Rudd caused drama during his second court meeting on November 26, showing up late without an explanation and fooling around outside the court. He also almost caused a crash as he reversed his black sports car into the path of an incoming truck.

His case will be called again in February. The threatening to kill charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in jail.

Rudd, who was kicked out of AC/DC in 1983 but rejoined the band in 1994, has lived in Tauranga since he moved to New Zealand in 1983.
