The singer, who joins the likes of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Miley Cyrus at the bash, will perform after the ball drops in New York's Times Square.

AceShowbiz - Billy Joel is the latest musician added to the line-up of performers at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. The veteran singer will be the first performer after the ball drops in Times Square.

Joel joined previously-announced performers, which include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo and Enrique Iglesias. The 64-year-old entertainer will perform one of his classic hits live from Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, according to ABC.

"This should be one of our more memorable new year's eves," said New Year's Rockin' Eve executive producer Barry Adelman. "With Miley Cyrus at 11:40 P.M. and Billy Joel at 12:05 A.M., it should be a great, great night."

Adelman added: "We like New Year's Rockin' Eve to be a review of the year in music. It's people who made a great impact on the charts. Icona Pop was so big throughout the year, Macklemore dominated the charts all year long and Robin Thicke has the (No. 2) song of the year on the Billboard (Hot 100). We always give artists a chance to do new material as well."

Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy will host the annual show from Times Square in New York City while Stacy Ferguson a.k.a. Fergie will host the celebration in Los Angeles. Seacrest will also lead the midnight countdown from Times Square.
