Jay-Z and Lady GaGa are tapped to sing at MTV VMAs, while Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester and Miranda Cosgrove are billed to present awards.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z and Lady GaGa have been confirmed as musical guests at the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z will sing one of "The Blueprint 3" singles, while Lady GaGa is expected to deliver one of the smash hits from her multi-platinum album "The Fame".

Commenting on her upcoming performance at the gala ceremony, Lady GaGa says she is stoked with the recruitment. "I'm simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs," she gushes. "In fact, I'm so happy, I could die."

While Jay-Z and Lady GaGa are added to the performers line-up, Nelly Furtado, "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester and "iCarly" actress Miranda Cosgrove are tapped to hand out awards, joining previously-announced presenters Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Chace Crawford.

This year's MTV VMAs will be held on September 13 at 9 P.M. ET with last year's host Russell Brand once again being billed for the job. The awards will take over New York City's most iconic locations, including Radio City Music Hall. Taylor Swift, Muse, Green Day and Pink have also been billed to entertain the awards' audience in addition to Jay-Z and Lady GaGa.

As for its nominations, Beyonce Knowles leads the pack with nine nods alongside Lady GaGa. Following their domination with seven gongs is Britney Spears. Fans can vote for the awards' winners by logging on to VMA.MTV.com. Those who are Verizon subscribers can determine the winners by texting VMA to 97979. The voting has been opened starting from August 4.
