The winners of the 5th season of US "Dancing with the Stars" are in, they are Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough.

Hough, a professional ballroom dancer and television celebrity, and her dancing partner Helio, who's one of the top drivers in North American open-wheel racing, have come out as the top winners at the dancing competition, thus putting heavy contenders Melanie Brown and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy second.

The finale, which saw each of the dancing couples offering two dances, judge's choice and freestyle, witnessed crowd favorite Mel B and Maks repeated their Mambo dance. They actually were praised by judge Carrie Ann Inaba and led the competition by scoring 85 out of 90. Scored one point more from Castroneves and Hough who were granted 84 for their Quickstep, Mel B and Maks, sad to say, got fewer fan votes, which placed them on the 2nd spot.

Marie Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts, sad to say, were eliminated within the first 15 minutes of the show on Tuesday night November 27th, making them only the third winners.

Hough's win is her second consecutive following her first with last season's winner, short track speed skating competitor Apolo Anton Ohno.

Commenting on his winning, Castroneves said after the show "It feels totally different from winning a race. I wasn't kidding. This goes right between my two Indy trophies. Otherwise, it would have been a big blank space."
