Hot on the heels of the false persistent rumors that Kylie Minogue is embarking on a tour but has been been forced to cancel it due to health concern in relation with the breast cancer she had in 2005, there comes a new report, the reliable one, that the Aussie pop singer has just launched her own social Networking website.

Kylie's new social Networking website, called KylieKonnect, is designed by New Visions Mobile who believe "it is a more mobile and flexible model than social network sites like MySpace and Facebook, already important marketing tools for pop stars."

KylieKonnect itself allows fans to make and upload profile pages as well as pictures. Additionally, users can also manage their pages from mobiles and also buy tickets to Kylie's future concerts on the site. Meanwhile, Julia McNally, business development director at New Visions Mobile, was quoted as saying "The whole thing is set up so that Kylie can update her blog and have a closer connection with fans."

With the launching of KylieKonnect, Kylie thus according to her record label Parlophone has become the first artist to create her own social networking site. KylieKonnect, in fact, is believed to make her an instant internet entrepreneur and shows the way the music industry is heading.

Rumors are mounting that Kylie had postponed a scheduled tour to promote her new album "X", which is due to launch in the UK on November 26th. However her record label denied that a tour was in the works. Read a statement of denial issued by Parlophone here.
