AceShowbiz - Twenty-five years after the release of her hit song "Come Into My World," Kylie Minogue commemorates the milestone with a fresh tribute in a new Chanel advertisement. The ad pays homage to the original music video, which first appeared on Minogue’s eighth studio album, Fever.
The Chanel 25 handbag commercial is set against the vibrant backdrop of Parisian streets and features multiple versions of Margot Robbie, best known for her role in Wuthering Heights. The various iterations of Robbie navigate the cityscape, performing everyday actions such as emerging from a bookstore, stepping out of a taxi, descending stairs, twirling around a lamppost, petting a dog, and walking a bicycle down the street.
Adding a special touch, Kylie Minogue herself makes a cameo appearance in the ad. She is seen in the second-story window of an apartment building wearing a pink sweater while singing "Come Into My World" as the track plays over the visuals. The commercial is directed by the acclaimed French filmmaker Michel Gondry, who also directed the original music video, creating a direct link between the two works.
"Come Into My World" first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2002 and January 2003, where it remained for eight weeks and peaked at No. 91. The song was part of the Fever album, released in October 2002, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in March 2002 and stayed on the chart for 44 weeks.
Fever also produced other notable hits, including "Can't Get You Out of My Head," which climbed to No. 7 on the Hot 100 in 2002, and "Love At First Sight," which spent 16 weeks on the chart and peaked at No. 23. The new Chanel ad elegantly bridges Minogue’s musical legacy with contemporary fashion, showcasing Robbie’s star power alongside the iconic Australian pop singer.
