Steve Lacy has reached a new milestone with his latest single "Bad Habit". The singer, who co-wrote the track with Diana Gordon, John Kirby, Britanny Foushee and Matthew Castellanos, finally saw his name in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart as it landed at No. 11 (dated August 6).

Released on June 29, "Bad Habit" also peaked at No. 13 on Billboard Global 200 and reached the fifth rank on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Meanwhile, the tune jumped from No. 9 to No. 5 in its third week on the ARIA singles chart. On the Official U.K. Singles Chart, the song stole the 17th spot.

The track, which serves as Steve's second single from his second studio album "Gemini Rights", arrived along with its official music video. In the visuals, he can be seen walking around an "empty space" that changes colors. He also sports the same outfit as in the video for his previous single, "Mercury".

Reflecting on an attraction to someone, Steve sings, "What you, ooh, uh, what you do?/ Made a move, coulda made a move/ If I knew I'd be with you/ Is it too late to pursue?" However, he hints in the chorus that he was too late to confess his love to his crush.

"I bite my tongue, it's a bad habit/ Kinda mad that I didn't take a stab at it/ Thought you were too good for me, my dear/ Never gave me time of day, my dear," the lyrics read. "It's okay, things happen for. Reasons that I think are sure, yeah."

Steve dropped his latest album "Gemini Rights" on July 15. The record boasts 10 tracks, including "Static", "Helmet", "Buttons", "2 Gether (Enterlude)" ft. Matt Martians, "Amber", "Sunshine" ft. Foushee and "Give You the World". It follows his follows 2019 debut album, "Apollo XXI".
