CNCO Biography

news-detailsCNCO was an American Latin boy band that emerged from Miami, Florida, and quickly gained international fame for their infectious music and charismatic performances. Formed in 2015, the group comprised four talented members: Richard Camacho, Erick Brian Colón, Christopher Vélez, and Zabdiel De Jesús, with Joel Pimentel as a member until his departure in May 2021. They first captured the public's attention by winning the inaugural season of the reality TV competition La Banda, which was created by music mogul Simon Cowell. This victory earned them a five-year recording contract with Sony Music Latin, setting the stage for their meteoric rise in the Latin pop genre.

The band made a significant impact with their debut album, "Primera Cita," released on August 26, 2016. This album featured the hit singles "Tan Fácil" and "Quisiera," both of which charted successfully. However, it was their third single, "Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)," that became a mainstream sensation, solidifying CNCO's presence in the music industry. The group's infectious blend of Latin pop and reggaeton quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase, and they embarked on tours, including one with the legendary Ricky Martin.

In April 2018, CNCO released their self-titled second studio album, which included chart-topping singles such as "Hey DJ," "Mamita," and "Se Vuelve Loca." The album continued their trend of commercial success, debuting at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and making a strong showing on the Billboard 200. Following this success, they launched an EP titled "Que Quiénes Somos" on October 11, 2019, featuring singles "De Cero" and "Pegao," which further showcased their musical versatility.

The year 2020 marked the beginning of the "Déjà Vu" era, as CNCO released a visual cover album celebrating classic Latin pop songs. The album, which featured three singles released in late 2020, was officially launched on February 5, 2021, further enriching their discography. As the band grew in popularity, they continued to release music that resonated with fans, culminating in the announcement of their final studio album, "XOXO," on the anniversary of their debut album's release in August 2022. This album included popular tracks such as "Toa La Noche," "La Equivocada," and "Party, Humo & Alcohol," featuring collaborations with artists like Kenia Os.

On July 21, 2022, CNCO announced their decision to disband, allowing each member to pursue solo careers while still performing together for a limited time. Their last single, "La Ultima Canción," was released in May 2023, marking the end of an era for the beloved boy band. CNCO officially disbanded on November 17, 2023, in Puerto Rico, leaving behind a legacy of memorable music and a substantial impact on the Latin pop landscape.
