Dale asks Hank to write him a recommendation for a pest control job at the Megalomart. Hank is torn because he's not sure if Dale will do a good job, but he writes the recommendation anyway. Dale interviews with the manager, who explains that the store's wires have been chewed through and packages have been opened.
Dale gets the job and sets traps to catch the pests but becomes puzzled when he can't catch the culprits. Dale interrogates the employees, who have a secret ax to grind with the company. He sees a cutout of Megalomart spokesman Chuck Mangione and suspects that he is somehow involved with the mischief.
While spending the night at the Megalomart, Dale hears an eerie noise and calls for the guys' help. But when Hank and the guys arrive to help Dale, they are chased around the store by people they can't see. Dale sets a trap, expecting to catch Chuck Mangione, but instead nabs two employees who were pretending to be Chuck. Dale thinks he has solved the mystery but later learns that it really was Chuck Mangione who caused all the trouble.
