Lucky decides to get his G.E.D and asks Peggy to tutor him. Peggy is happy to help Lucky better himself until he reveals the reason for finishing high school is to ask Luanne to marry him and according to his code of honor, he needs his G.E.D before asking her. Feeling that Lucky is not good enough for Luanne and that she would be better off without him, Peggy sabotages Lucky and teaches him completely wrong information. Lucky fails the test and cannot ask Luanne to marry him, but Luanne reveals that she is pregnant and the Hills believe they need to get married. Hank and Lucky discover a compromise in the code by having a shotgun wedding - Lucky is "forced" to marry Luanne without getting his G.E.D - although he really wants to marry her anyhow.
