In Redding County, Alabama, Guerrero makes a fake passport for his nervous pal Jerry, who's fleeing from some drug traffickers he worked for. Guerrero stashed Jerry's only insurance policy back at HQ. They've been friends since third grade, when Jerry gave Guerrero his first job by paying him a quarter to put a bully in crutches.

Back in San Francisco, Ilsa is worried because Guerrero has been AWOL for two weeks. Sometimes he does side jobs, Winston and Chance explain, and it's safer for everyone if they don't know.

In the El Do, Guerrero's surrounded by local cops. He protests about harassment, but they make him pop the trunk. They find . . . Jerry's body. What?

Chance visits Guerrero at the Redding County Jail. Ilsa tracked him down. Guerrero is outraged; it's a total invasion of privacy and personal freedom. He doesn't need help, unless Chance wants to get the El Do out of impound. By the way, he didn't kill the guy. Whoever's behind it is after something Guerrero left at the office. Guerrero is planning a jailbreak.

At the local diner, Winston samples the crawfish with gusto while Chance sticks to a burger. They need to keep Guerrero from escaping, or he'll be a fugitive forever. The case file says he bought the murder weapon at a gun shop two days ago; the receipt and body were in the El Do's trunk. Right, like Guerrero would ever make such a mistake.

Chance calls Ilsa, who enlists Ames to break into Guerrero's work locker. They find fish food that Ames thinks smells like rat poison, and a metal briefcase. Bingo!

Guerrero's new cellmate has a shiv and a question: Where's the notebook? Cue vicious battle with shiv and pillowcase, which Guerrero wins. He takes out his guard and escapes. Meanwhile, outside the jail with Winston, Chance discusses the briefcase with Ilsa. They need the four-digit code. Chance says bring it to him and he'll shoot it open. Winston asks if Chance even knows Guerrero's first name. Well, he changes it every now and again.

They spot their friend, disguised as a guard, leaving the jail. After some literal arm-twisting between himself and Chance, Guerrero explains that the drug-runners got his friend Jerry, and now Guerrero's getting them. Chance says that he needs Guerrero on his team, so trust him. OK. Back inside, Guerrero pays for attacking the guard. Warden Cole himself presides over the beating.

At Gun World, where surveillance recordings supposedly captured Guerrero buying the weapon, Chance decides to just grab the discs containing the footage and bolt. Open season on Chance! Armed patrons lock, load, and blast away as he shoots his way out.

En route to Alabama on Ilsa's plane, Ames ponders the four-digit briefcase combo. The letters of "El Do" translate to "3526." Success! Inside, Ilsa finds a notebook listing deliveries, times, and addresses. And Ames finds files and surveillance on the team. While Ilsa is distracted by phone transcripts, Ames pulls out a photo of a little boy on a tricycle.

Chance and Winston see that the buyer isn't Guerrero; it's a prison guard. Ilsa calls. The notebook centers on one location, Redding County Jail. Chance turns himself in. After all, he's the guy who robbed Gun World. Soon he's filling in Guerrero, who's very unhappy that they broke into his stuff. Winston and Ames check out a truck stop, a regular drop-off point. As for Ilsa, does she know the governor of Alabama?

Chance tells Guerrero that warden Cole once worked for the DEA, busting backwoods meth labs. Now he has more than a million dollars in offshore accounts. He's using his experience to run a meth operation out of the jail. Ilsa gets the Alabama governor's attention with a $50,000 campaign contribution.

Ames and Winston break into a semi-truck and find boxes of snow globes. Winston smashes one, discovering a small package of white crystals. The truck starts up, and they're locked in! They use GPS to figure out where they're headed and call Ilsa, who gets the governor to have the truck detained.

Chance and Guerrero take out four attacking inmates, then hitch a ride on a semi headed into the lab. Cole and his minions catch them, but they turn the tables and set fire to the lab. Chance stops Guerrero from shooting Cole. But Guerrero says, dude, he killed my friend and framed me for it. He brandishes a sharp screwdriver, saying something about an eye for an eye. Then the cops arrive, with Winston, Ames, and Ilsa.

At the impound lot, the El Do's upholstery is shredded from a search. Ilsa offers to ship the car home so they can take Guerrero on the plane - and discuss his spying on the team. Guerrero is grateful for the help, but he'll drive. They won't let the spying thing go, though. Fine, he'll stop watching everyone's back, OK? He asks what else they found in the briefcase. Ames says nothing . . . except fish food. Is it, like, for torturing people? No, it's for feeding fish.

At the diner, Chance hands Guerrero a box, saying it's his birthday coming up soon, right? Yeah, says Guerrero. Chance figures Guerrero didn't have time to shop, being in jail and all. The box contains a snow globe, de-methed. Guerrero smiles. "Thanks, bro."

Back in San Francisco, the El Do pulls up to a tidy blue house, with a white picket fence. Guerrero heads up the walk with the box, passing a tricycle on his way inside.
