Dave turns his truck into a speakeasy. He's serving old-fashioned cocktails at a little event that becomes a big success. He's on a rocket ride to fame that has him hanging out with the likes of Colin Hanks. Yes, that Hanks. Dave is also hanging out in Jane's sex dreams. Brad is horrified because he's having sex dreams about Dave, too.

Penny is doing a super-cleanse that's been recommended by Teri Hatcher. Alex joins her on this venture because you can't ever go wrong with a concept endorsed by T-Hatch. They cut out sugar and other good stuff. Well, Alex does. Penny doesn't, and she stops cleansing fairly quickly. She's hiding all her meals from Alex and secretly drinking those old-fashioned cocktails. Oh, and she's having sex dreams about Dave, too.

Alex starts hanging with another cleanser named Avi. This guy gets her more than her friends, who feel a lack of real food is causing her to lose it. Of course, Alex is the only one not having sex dreams about Dave. This leads the others to the conclusion that it's the speakeasy drinks that are causing the dreams. Whew!

When his friends bail on a little birthday party for Colin Hanks, Dave starts hanging out with the versatile Orange County star. It's a short-lived friendship. Dave and Colin are from different worlds and not just because Chicago is a long way from the O.C. Alex also ditches that Avi guy for a plate of fresh meat.

Max worries he may be getting serious with Grant. He doesn't want to settle down, but changes his mind shortly after enjoying his boyfriend's tasty breakfast frittata. He also confesses that he could see himself starting a family with Grant. The only problem is that his partner doesn't see kids in their future. That's why Max suggests they take a little break.

Penny helps Max save face as he explains the Grant situation to his friends, who confess to having sex dreams about Dave. Those night visions are a thing of the past, except for the one Alex has. She wakes up relieved that her little hook-up with Dave was all a dream. Or was it? Maybe she should ask Dave, who is sleeping soundly in her bed.
