Cougar Town Episode 2.19 Damaged by Love

Jules' dad, Chick, is in town to help Travis get over his broken heart. Asking your girlfriend to marry you, then having her say no only to move away forever would knock the wind out of anyone's sails. Chick and Bobby feel that there's only one thing that could possibly make Travis feel better-a trip to a strip club.

The great strip club adventure doesn't pan out. Travis ditches his family after promising the lone pole dancer on duty that they'd give her a ride home on Bobby's golf cart. Jules spends the entire trip defending accusations from her ex that she babies their son. At least Chick seems to be enjoying the ride, as the only place the stripper can sit is on his lap. He didn't even have to slip her any singles!

Ellie doesn't want Andy's visiting brother, Nestor, to stay at their place. This is mainly because Nestor's wife, Angela (guest star Nia Vardalos, who is Ian Gomez's real-life wife), is very touchy-feely with her hubby. Brother Torres arrives and, as expected, Angela is all over Andy. Ellie doesn't want to cause a huge family scene. So whenever she feels the need to unleash her mean, she'll vent on Jules.

Unfortunately, Jules is MIA, so Laurie will have to pinch-hit as the target of Ellie's venom. Being a stress ball is not something Laurie wants to do, so she bails. She eventually returns to help out her nemesis, but Ellie can't lay into someone who is willing to take abuse in the name of friendship. Instead, she gives Nestor the 411 on what's been going on with his wife. So he promptly tackles Andy. Ellie was kind of hoping he would go after Angela. Oh, well.

Grayson is a terrible skater. That doesn't stop him from lacing up his rollerblades to do what he does worst. He gets in some practice time with a little kid on a Big Wheel. Grayson vents to the lad about how Jules doesn't understand his innate need to rollerblade. Actually, Jules is more in tune than the G-Man thinks. She gives Grayson the go-ahead to rollerblade home by latching onto the back of the golf cart. Now that's love.

With Chick's help, Jules and Bobby eventually make nice. They need to support each other because it's in the best interest of their boy. Travis isn't ready to talk about things yet, but you can be sure Jules and Bobby will be standing by the moment he is.
