AceShowbiz - Rap superstar Kanye West is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit from a little-known songwriter and producer over his hit 2007 single "Stronger". Vincent 'Vince P.' Peters has accused the "Gold Digger" hitmaker of copying chunks from his own composition, also named "Stronger", which he alleges was written in 2006.

Peters claims he gave music manager John Monopoly, a business associate of West's, a copy of the song during a meeting at his Chicago, Illinois home in November, 2006, and was stunned when the rapper's version began getting radio airplay a few months later.

Peters filed legal papers in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Friday, June 25 and is seeking undisclosed damages and a trial by jury, reports AllHipHop.com. West's "Stronger" has become one of his biggest hits to date, selling over three million units and becoming the 16th most downloaded song of all time, according to the iTunes music download service.
