In a new interview, the former 'Bachelorette' contestant criticizes Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist's brief marriage, saying that it harms the franchise' reputation.

AceShowbiz - Tyler Cameron, the runner-up on Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette" in 2019, has expressed his disappointment over the short-lived marriage of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, stars of "The Golden Bachelor."

During a recent episode of "The Happy Hour" on SiriusXM, Cameron, 31, stated, "They have put a true stain on love in the 'Bachelor' world." He added, "Three months? They make all my relationships seem very long. I'm a dating expert compared to them."

Cameron pointed out that the wholesome nature of "The Golden Bachelor" brought joy back to the franchise, showcasing genuine relationships. However, he lamented, "They just pulled the rug right out from under us [like], 'Nope. We don't wanna live near each other.'"

Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, announced their separation during an appearance on "Good Morning America" on April 12th. Gerry filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences." Despite having met on the show and tying the knot during a televised wedding ceremony in January, the couple had been maintaining a long-distance relationship due to their different residences in Indiana and New Jersey.

Cameron offered his theory on why Gerry and Theresa were unable to compromise, comparing them to his own aging father who has become set in his ways. "He can't find anyone that wants to deal with the stuff he does," Tyler said. "He doesn't want to change much either. I imagine Gerry and Teresa ... don't want to change their ways."

Theresa has since taken to Instagram to address the backlash she received following the split, urging critics to "try a little kindness." She added that while she believed the marriage would last, it taught her valuable lessons. "It turns out, even at the age of 70, you don't know everything," she wrote. "Sometimes things don't go the way you planned and that's OK."
