AceShowbiz - A grease fire in the kitchen of ABC Studios in New York City forced the evacuation of the "Tamron Hall" show and its audience on Wednesday, April 10th. The fire also prompted the evacuation of "The View" studio, which is located in the same building.
Host Tamron Hall explained that the fire erupted before taping, causing her staff and the audience to flee the building. "I know this looks a little different around here," she said. 'Something happen that's never happened in the five seasons of the show."
Multiple firetrucks responded to the scene, extinguishing the blaze before anyone was injured. "Now, we're in the clean-up phase," she added, explaining that she would be back on set live Thursday, April 11.
Hall praised her team's quick response and informed viewers that. As the live taping was cancelled, Monday's episode featured a rerun.
"The View" co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin also evacuated their studio after the fire. They joked about not starting the fire, which Goldberg pointed out originated from the neighboring "Tamron Hall" set.
Backstage footageshowed the commotion as the hosts and crew fled the building. They shared that Navarro, who was commuting from Miami, was alerted to the emergency via a Zoom meeting that revealed a dark and empty studio.
Goldberg commented on the importance of priorities during an evacuation, stating that she immediately secured her purse for identification. Hostin admitted to leaving her purse behind but grabbing her phone.
Following the incident, both "Tamron Hall" and "The View" staff expressed their gratitude to the firefighters for their prompt response and emphasized that everyone was safe.
