For the occasion, the "Dance Moms" alum ditched dresses as she opted for a sheer jumpsuit featuring bat-like embellishments on the arms. The outfit, adorned with rhinestones, allowed JoJo to show off her midriff.
JoJo paired the unique ensemble with equally bold makeup. Channelling KISS, the 20-year-old dancer rocked spiked black makeup around her eyes as well as faux hawk. JoJo seemed to be satisfied with her look as she was seen posing with a devil horns hand gesture in front of the photographers.
Despite her confidence, fans were not feeling JoJo's look. Internet users immediately took to social media to ridicule JoJo for her outfit. "Why is JoJo Siwa doing Kiss cosplay?" one questioned, while someone felt like having a "Miley Cyrus flashback."
One person, meanwhile, likened JoJo to a WWE athlete, saying, "Why does JoJo Siwa look like she just debuted as the latest WWE villain?" Echoing the sentiment, one user said that JoJo looked like she was "starting a wrestling career." Someone else simply called her look "a mess."
Meanwhile, JoJo has been teasing her song "Karma", where she is set to show her more mature side. On March 23, she made use of her Instagram page to share a new promotional photo for the single. In the image, she is featured getting up and close with two girls while seemingly making out with one of them.
Prior to this, Jojo dropped a short clip seemingly documenting behind-the-scenes of the music video for the song. In the background of the clip, she played a snippet of her forthcoming song. "I was a bad girl, I did some bad things/ I swear I did it all for fun and it meant nothing/ It never happened, it was a secret," she can be heard singing.
She continues, "Like when a tree falls in the forest, no one hears it/ Another late night, another crazy mood/ And I didn't think twice what it would do to you/ I was a wild child, you always knew it/ It was a matter of time before I blew it."
