The 'Notebook' actress as well as her co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert were all offered to appear in the ad, but she reportedly 'didn't want to do it.'

AceShowbiz - Rachel McAdams has been left out of a "Mean Girls" reunion in the new Walmart Black Friday ad. While Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert appear in the commercial, the "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" star is noticeably missing from the returning pack for a reason that has now been disclosed.

According to Page Six, all of the girls were offered to star in commercial that was unleashed on Wednesday, November 1, but McAdams turned it down. "Rachel McAdams didn't want to do it," a so-called insider tells the site. "They were all offered it," the source adds, noting that there's no bad blood between "The Notebook" star and her castmates despite skipping the reunion.

Of the returning stars' reaction to the offer, the source claims, "But the three of them loved being together for their reunion." The source further dishes on the three actresses' interaction during the filming as saying, "They had a great time talking about being moms, and it was definitely a loss not having Rachel there."

In the ad, Lohan reprises her role as Cady Heron, who narrates the video. "At Northshore some things never change. On Wednesdays we still wear pink," she says, "but now we shop Walmart Black Friday deals."

"Even as the guidance counselor I was still getting schooled," she adds in another part of the clip, which also sees Seyfried's Karen Smith as a weather news reporter. The ad revisits Karen's air-headed weather report.

Meanwhile, Chabert's Gretchen Wieners is now a mother and she seems proud of her role. "I am such a good mom," she brags to Cady, who replies, "I'm impressed."

The ad was released just two months before a "Mean Girls" musical film is set to hit U.S. theaters. While Tina Fey reprises her role as Ms. Norbury, none of the main cast members return for the upcoming adaptation of the stage musical, which in turn in based on the 2004 film.

Speaking to Bustle in April, McAdams voiced her interest in jumping back into Regina's shoes in the musical film. "If Tina [Fey] can figure it out, I'm there, for sure," she said, but added, "I don't see a way to shoehorn us in."
