The 'Rules of Engagement' actor, whom Goldie Hawn shares with ex-husband Bill Hudson, reveals that police initially thought he was joking when he mentioned Kurt when asked about his dad's name.

AceShowbiz - Oliver Hudson divulged that he once had a run-in with the law when he was 16. When sharing his story on "Live with Kelly and Ryan", the Adam Rhodes depicter on "Rules of Engagement" recalled Kurt Russell's reaction upon learning of his arrest.

"I did get arrested when I was 16 years old," the 45-year-old actor told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest in the Wednesday, January 5 episode of their show. "It was a crazy story 'cause they had to call the parents, and they said, 'What's your dad's name?' "

"And I'm like, 'Oh my God. Kurt Russell,' " Oliver continued recounting. "They're like, 'No, kid, what's your dad's name?' And I said, 'It's Kurt Russell.' They started fighting over who was gonna make the phone call. It was crazy."

When Kelly asked, "When Kurt gets that phone call, is he upset or is he understanding? Is he the Kurt I fantasize that he is?" Oliver replied, "Yes, he is. He is."

"Look, we were stupid. We had paintball guns. We were doing dumb things, as kids do. He understood what it was like for him when he was the age; he did stupid stuff as well," the brother of Kate Hudson went on elaborating. "But he was not a happy dad, let's just say that."

Oliver previously revealed that he and his pals were taken into police custody after accidentally shooting a group of adults with fully-loaded paintball guns. When appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in 2018, he talked about the punishment that Kurt gave him following his arrest.

"My punishment was to shoot up my Honda Prelude with blue leather interior," the son of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson told host Jimmy Kimmel. "I had to shoot up my car, dent it up, and drive that for the rest of my existence."

"His philosophy is, I know what I did was wrong, right? So why ground me?" Oliver added. "So at point-blank range you're going to destroy your car and you're going to have to drive it for the rest of however long you own this car."
