Ed Sheeran Is Rushed to Hospital After Being Hit by Car, His Injuries Might Affect Tour

The 'Shape of You' hitmaker appears to have broken his arm after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle in London.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran was taken to hospital Monday morning, October 16. The star was reportedly hit by a car when riding his bicycle in London. He seemed to break his arm. He wore a cast in one arm and had a support in another in his Instagram picture.

"I've had a bit of a bicycle accident and I'm currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news," so the British singer/songwriter informed his 15 million followers.

The extent of his injuries are still unclear, but his tour might be in jeopardy due to the accident. Instead of having elaborate costume and stage layout, the Grammy-winning artist is usually armed only with his guitar during his tour.

The 26-year-old redhead kicked off his latest world tour in March this year and is currently on a break. The "Shape of You" hitmaker is scheduled to resume the tour on October 22 and will stay on the road until November 2018.

The tour is support his third studio album "Divide". It sold over 600k units in U.K. in its first week, making it the fastest-selling album by a male artist there and the third-highest opening behind Adele's "25" and Oasis' "Be Here Now".

Ed Sheeran is also scheduled to perform at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. He will perform twice on December 1 at The Forum in Los Angeles and December 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York. He is joined by the likes of The Chainsmokers, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Demi Lovato, Logic, Ke$ha, Niall Horan, Halsey, Charlie Puth, Liam Payne, Fall Out Boy, Camila Cabello, Julia Michaels and Why Don't We.

The annual Christmas festivity is also supported by Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson, Fifth Harmony and Zedd. The multi-city concert tour will begin on November 28 in Dallas and wrap up on December 17 in Fort Lauderdale.
