AceShowbiz - Vocal group Fifth Harmony confirms that Camila Cabello has decided to leave the group after four and a half years of being together. The pop group took to Instagram on late Sunday, December 18 to announce the news.

"After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well," the group wrote. The post continued, "You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you've supported us, and with your love and support, we will continue on."

The remaining group members, Ally Broke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui, stated that they would be "moving forward" musically as a foursome and continue to explore "solo endeavors." They also said that the love from their fans had made them strong. They said, "We are excited for our future, and we can't wait for what the new year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all of our heart."

Within minutes, fans flooded the comment section as they expressed surprise at the news. One user wrote, "I'm so shocked, but I wish Camila well and good luck and hope that she still caries on as a successful solo artist[crying emoji] And to Lauren, Ally, Dinah and Normani tysm for carrying on fifth harmony I'm so grateful, ily all[heart emoji]," while others simply reacted with broken heart emojis.

Camila started her solo venture back in 2015 when she teamed up with Shawn Mendes for duet "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Earlier this year, the 19-year-old songstress collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly on "Bad Things" and she was also rumored recording a song with Major Lazer.

Fifth Harmony was formed in the second season of "The X Factor (US)" in 2012. They have released two albums, "Reflection" and "7/27". Earlier this month, the group told radio personality Elvis Duran that they're about to work on the third album. Normani and Dinah revealed that the album would be "popping and so lit."
