Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions have surprisingly released trailer for 'Cloverfield' sequel titled '10 Cloverfield Lane'.

AceShowbiz - No one expected to see a sequel to "Cloverfield" anytime soon as there were no reports about the sequel over the past few years. However, Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions surprised moviegoers at the screenings of "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" on January 14 with a trailer for the sequel to "Cloverfield" titled "10 Cloverfield Lane".

The trailer shows three people, one girl (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and two guys (John Gallagher Jr. and John Goodman), living in what appears to be an underground cellar. They eat, play and do a lot of activities together. At one point, Winstead hits Goodman's neck with a bottle of beer. She subsequently makes her way to a door upstairs.

After Winstead passes through the door, there's another door which Goodman asks her not to open. She looks frightened as she sees through a glass panel on the second door. Goodman can be heard saying, "Something is coming," as the title of the film appears on the screen.

According to ComingSoon.net, "10 Cloverfield Lane" centers on a girl who, after losing consciousness in a car accident, wakes up in an underground cellar. A man tells her that the outside world has perished in a nuclear attack.

"The idea came up a long time ago during production," J.J. Abrams said in a statement obtained by Collider. "We wanted to make it a blood relative of 'Cloverfield'. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible."

Prior to the current title, the film was formerly known as first "The Cellar" and later "Valencia". "10 Cloverfield Lane" will be released in the U.S. on March 11.
