'We're bringing back our interludes. We've come up with some really fun, funny stuff for people to enjoy,' Chilli teases the album, which is expected to come out sometime this year.

Last year, TLC started a Kickstarter campaign asking fans to help fund their fifth and final album, which was initially planned for release in late 2015. After the campaign ended with more than $400,000 collected, nothing about the project was heard until last November when the group's surviving members announced they'd delayed it until 2016.

Now, Rozonda Thomas a.k.a. Chilli gave an update on the album in a new interview with Billboard. She told the news outlet that she and Tionne Watkins a.k.a. T-Boz went back in the studio starting Wednesday January 13 to continue working on the anticipated set.

"We're trying to finish up the album, and after today, [it will be] day in, day out, just getting this album done," she said before teasing what TLC's fans could expect from the record, adding, "I'll just say this: We're bringing back our interludes. We've come up with some really fun, funny stuff for people to enjoy."

Currently, details about the record including the title and official release date are still kept under tight wraps. Among those supporting their final album were Katy Perry who donated $5,000 and New Kids on the Block who contributed $20,000.

While no new music from TLC has arrived, fans can listen to Chilli's new solo song called "Body" which she recorded for her new CIZE dance routine that she launched earlier this week. She hoped the dancey track would inspire people who don't enjoy working out.

"I just kind of thought about working out and your body and how hard it is for people to work out and stay on that path, and those were the lyrics," she explained. "So when I talked to the producer, Javon, and the other writer, Minka, I would just tell them exactly what I wanted to say, and I said, 'The beat has to make people want to dance.' That's how it came to life."
