Robert De Niro Has Never Watched 'The Sopranos'

The 'Intern' actor admits he never saw a single episode of the award-winning crime-drama series.

AceShowbiz - Robert De Niro has never seen "The Sopranos". In an interview with Cigar Aficionado Magazine 's latest issue, the star of "The Godfather Part II" admits he never saw a single episode of the award-winning show.

"I assume you watch TV," Marvin Shanken, editor of Cigar Aficionado, tells Robert, as quoted by Page Six, "I've done quite a few interviews. I've never worked so hard preparing for you." The "Stardust" actor replies, "Not much, but it depends." Marvin then asks the actor, "Did you ever watch 'The Sopranos?' " to which he replies, "No."

Marvin adds, "Interesting. So my next question�" Before the editor even finished his question, Robert says, "I heard about it. It was very good."

Created by David Chase, "The Sopranos" premiered on HBO in 1999 and ended its original run of six seasons in 2007. James Gandolfini starred in the show along with a total of 27 actors of Robert De Niro-starrer "Goodfellas" including Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, and Tony Sirico. The series won a multitude of awards including Peabody Awards for its first two seasons, 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards.

Robert has three upcoming films to be released in 2015, including heist thriller flick "Bus 567", comedy "The Intern", and biographical comedy-drama "Joy", and two upcoming movies to be released in 2016, including biographical-action flick "Hands of Stone" and comedy "Dirty Grandpa".
