'Stardust' Dubbed 19th GLAAD Media Awards' Outstanding Film
March 18, 2008 02:03:48As winners of the 19th Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards have been announced on Monday, March 17, it was revealed that the adventure drama fantasy film "Stardust" has nailed one of the top prizes given out. On the special event held at New York's Marriott Marquis, the Paramount Pictures' film has shown its dominance over the other two contenders "Across the Universe" and "The Jane Austen Book Club".
The film featuring Claire Danes, Charlie Cox and Sienna Miller has brought home Outstanding Film in the category of wide release. Aside from the Matthew Vaughn-directed film, another movie receiving the Outstanding Film kudo was the 2006 Israeli gay love story feature film "The Bubble" which nailed the award for the category of limited release. "Bubble" beat out "Itty Bitty Titty Committee", "Nina's Heavenly Delights", "Dirty Laundry" and "Whole New Thing".

January 21, 2008 01:01:07Paramount Pictures' fantasy film "Stardust" gathered nod from the 19th annual GLAAD Media Awards as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation announced their nominations. The Matthew Vaughn directed-film was recognized under the category of Outstanding Film for Wide Release.
For the prize honor, the film starring Claire Danes, Charlie Cox and Sienna Miller will have to face two other strong contenders, "Across the Universe" and "The Jane Austen Book Club". "Universe" is a Beatles-inspired musical love story starring Evan Rachel Wood and directed by Julie Taymor, while "Jane Austen" is a romantic drama film adapted from Karen Joy Fowler's bestseller novel featuring Kathy Baker, Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Amy Brenneman and Hugh Dancy.

January 03, 2007 11:01:20Ready for more voice acting after that in "Flushed Away", Ian McKellen is set to fill in the narrator role in "Stardust", a fantasy adventure feature of Paramount Pictures production, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
Directed by "Layer Cake" helmer Matthew Vaughn, the project has wrapped its production in the fall with cast that includes Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, plus Robert De Niro. McKellen himself is attached to record his part during post-production before the flick's scheduled release date on July 27 this year.

Thus, the studio has been negotiated with British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn to direct and produce his adaptation of Neil Gaiman's adult fairy tale.
