Deanna Micoley dismisses Rosie O'Donnell's claim that Chelsea has mental illness, saying that medication is not something that Chelsea needs.

AceShowbiz - The biological mother of Rosie O'Donnell's adopted daughter, Chelsea, breaks her silence after the teen left the comedienne's house to live with her. Deanna Micoley, who gave Chelsea up for adoption in 1997, denies Rosie's claim that Chelsea is struggling with mental illness.

Chelsea "didn't want any more attention after everything with Rosie saying that she had a mental illness," Micoley tells The Daily Mail. "There's nothing wrong with her. She's out with family right now and she's great." Chelsea herself adds with a smile, "Everything is fine."

When Chelsea was missing, Rosie claimed the 18-year-old girl "stopped taking her medicine and [was] in need of medical attention." Now Micoley says, "I don't think Chelsea has mental illness and I don't think medication is something that she definitely needs." She suggests that the teenager might benefit from a "quieter" family life.

Chelsea O'Donnell was found in New Jersey with an alleged drug addict she met on Tinder after she disappeared for a week. The man named Steven M. Sheerer was later arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and the distribution of obscenity.

Rosie hasn't responded to Deanna Micoley's statement but her representative issued a statement after Chelsea decided to live with her birth mother. "Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice," the rep said.
