AceShowbiz - Hugh Jackman has confirmed that "The Wolverine 3" would be his final appearance as the character he owned in the "X-Men" film franchise. Hugh told Dr. Oz on Thursday, May 7, "This will be my last one. It is my last time."

The "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor explained, "It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."

It's still unclear whether he will make an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse" which is scheduled for a May 27, 2016 release. "The Wolverine 3" will be released in the U.S. on March 3, 2017.

In late March, Hugh hinted at playing Wolverine for the last time. At that time, he shared on Instagram a photo of his hands with one of them wearing metal claws. "WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ," the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actor wrote alongside the snap.
