Witherspoon got her 'blonde moment' on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' after taking long time to understand the insinuation that the host is her daughter's father.

AceShowbiz - In the latest episode of "Late Show with David Letterman", Reese Witherspoon took long time to get a joke by David Letterman. The "Legally Blonde" star didn't realize that the host jokingly implied that he is her daughter's father.
Having done partying at the Met Gala, Reese came to the show in her elegant blue dress. During the talk, David expressed his admiration for her picture with her 15-year-old daughter, Ava, which was recently uploaded to her social media. "Look at that, ladies and gentlemen. Wow! that's a great picture," he said.
As the picture appeared on the screen, Reese enthusiastically talked about her look-alike daughter. She said, "Coincidentally, she was born the first year I was on this show."
Her statement was then followed by awkward throat clearing from Letterman, saying, "Well, that's an interesting coincidence," as the audience laughed. It took some seconds until Reese caught the joke implying that David is her daughter's dad. She hurriedly yelped, "Oh, my God! No, no, no!"
"I got it. I got it. I got it now," she said as she laughed, "I was having a blonde moment. I have a lot of them lately." Witherspoon then shared that her girl, whose father is her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, didn't mention about wanting to be an actress but she is very artistic. David continued asking, "Does she have behavioral problems?" "Not yet. Not yet. No smoking or drinking," the 39-year-old actress replied.
