The 'Locke' actor is confirmed to reprise his key role in the franchise should 'Mad Max: Fury Road' gets sequels.

AceShowbiz - Tom Hardy is set to return for "Mad Max: Fury Road" sequels if they are being made. In an interview with Esquire where he graced the cover for May issue, it's revealed the British hunk has inked a multi-picture deal to reprise his role in the franchise.

The "Locke" actor is expected to play the titular role made famous by Mel Gibson in the next three more installments. Still, he plays it down as saying, "Everything's based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it's a business."

The filming took place at Swakopmund in Namibia, on the edge of the Namib Desert. He recalls, "We were in the middle of nowhere, so far away from the studio system that [Warner Bros] can't really see what's going on, and just getting things to and from the set was a nightmare."

"We'd lose half a vehicle in sand and have to dig it out. It was just this unit in the middle of x-million square-kilometres of desert, and then this group of lunatics in leathers, like a really weird S&M party, or a Hell's Angels convention. It was like Cirque du Soleil meets f**king Slipknot," he adds.

The fourth entry in the franchise, "Fury Road" is directed by George Miller from the original movies. It will arrive Stateside on May 15. Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough, and Zoe Kravitz are among the cast.

Tom Hardy has seen the movie, and says it's "f**king unbelievable." He also states, "I've never been more excited and out of my comfort zone."
