AceShowbiz - Kanye West will be among the headliners of the 2015 Glastonbury that's taking place on June 24-28 in Pilton, England. The festival's organizer announced on Twitter on Monday, March 16 that the rapper would take over the famous Pyramid Stage on Saturday night, June 27.
"We are thrilled to let you know we have the one and only Kanye West headlining Saturday night on the Pyramid stage!" wrote Emily Eavis, the daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis. West then confirmed the news via his own Twitter account, "EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE IM HEADLINING PYRAMID STAGE SATURDAY NIGHT @GLASTOFEST THIS YEAR."
'Ye is the second hip-hop act to headline the festival. His pal and frequent collaborator Jay-Z was the first. Appearing in 2008, Hova was criticized by former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher who thought rappers shouldn't be headlining the annual event traditionally thought of as a rock and pop festival.
Despite the ciriticism, Jay-Z played a well-received performance. He even mocked Gallagher by opening his set with Oasis' hit "Wonderwall".
