AceShowbiz - "Chicago Med" has nabbed Laurie Holden as one of the cast members. The 45-year-old actress is expected to play the role of Dr. Hannah Tramble, a fearless and brilliant ER surgeon whose tough as nails childhood has given her a dark edge.
The former star of "The Walking Dead" is set to share screen with S. Epatha Merkerson and Yaya DaCosta in the planted spinoff of "Chicago Fire". A backdoor pilot for the new medical drama series is scheduled to air on episode 19 of "Chicago Fire" this season.
The spinoff is created by "Chicago Fire" producers Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Matt Olmstead, and Dick Wolf. They also conceived another spinoff called "Chicago P.D.". The police procedural series premiered in January 2014 and has been renewed for third season.
