The man who discovered Taylor Swift ten years ago is eyed to assist aspiring singers on the upcoming 14th season of the FOX singing competition.

AceShowbiz - "American Idol" is zeroing in on Scott Borchetta as a new mentor. According to a scoop from Us Weekly, the President and CEO of Big Machine Label Group is in talks to join the upcoming season filling the void left by Randy Jackson and Jimmy Iovine.

Borchetta, 52, is recognized for his success of developing new talent and reviving those who have been in the industry for many years. He is credited with discovering Taylor Swift at age 14. Now, his label is a home to superstars like Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, and Brantley Gilbert.

The 14th edition of "American Idol" will premiere on FOX January 7, 2015. Last year's judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr., are expected to return.

This year, Swift served as an advisor for aspiring singers on the seventh season of rival show "The Voice" which has Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams as coaches.
