Mel Brooks Sports Prosthetic Sixth Finger at His Hand and Footprint Ceremony

The 88-year-old comedian wore an additional prosthetic finger while sinking his hands and feet into cement in front of TCL Chinese Theatre.

AceShowbiz - Mel Brooks is the latest celebrity who cemented his mark on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On Monday, September 8, Mel sported a prosthetic sixth finger on his left hand while sinking his hands and feet into the cement in front of TCL Chinese Theatre.

The award-winning filmmaker later took to Twitter to share a picture of his hand and footprint, captioning it with, "I desperately need to wash my hands." He followed it up with, "Hands are clean but the shoes will never be the same. Now I'm off to tape @ConanOBrien tonight! #teamcoco."

According to AFP, Mel's son Max Brooks joked to the audience while introducing his father to the audience at the ceremony, "About time, huh? Comedians never get their fair share of recognition in Hollywood. How often does a comedy get best movie of the year?" Mel then stepped forward and told the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you all for being here and being part of the wonderful charade. I really love it."

The hand and footprint ceremony was held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mel's Oscar-nominated movie, "Young Frankenstein". The movie will be released on Blu-ray on September 9.

Other celebrities who have printed their hand and footprints include Michael Jackson, Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Jackie Chan, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp.
