The 'Total Recall' actor plays a romantic thief who can't remember his past as he lands in the modern-day Manhattan.
Akiva Goldsman's directorial debut "Winter's Tale" releases its first trailer. It previews a love story set in the early 1900s between a thief named Peter Lake and a dying girl, Beverly Penn, who lives in one of the houses he attempted to rob. Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay play the on-screen couple.
While caught up in a doomed relationship with the girl of his dreams, Peter has to constantly dodge a gangster named Pearly Soames (Russell Crowe) and his gang of thugs. Halfway through the trailer, it shows the robber mysteriously sent to the present day of Manhattan where he can't even remember his own name.
Based on the classic 1983 novel of the same name by Mark Helprin, the film is supported by such A-listers as Will Smith, Jennifer Connelly, Matthew Bomer and William Hurt. The romantic supernatural drama is scheduled to make its way out in the United States on Valentine's Day 2014.
